POSTING This position works remotely requiring a telecommuting
agreement and adherence to the UCSC Telecommuting/Remote Work
Guidelines. The employee shall be available in a full-time capacity
during assigned telecommuting work hours (specific hours to be
discussed with supervisor). While telecommuting/remote working, the
employee is responsible for ensuring a worksite environment
suitable for accomplishing their regular job duties during
scheduled hours of work and, if applicable, arranging for dependent
care just as they would if they were working at the regular UCSC
worksite. NO VISA SPONSORSHIP IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS POSITION.
NOTIFICATIONS UC Vaccination Policy: With limited exceptions,
COVID-19 vaccinations are required for Covered Individuals under
the Policy. Covered Individuals include all employees, students, or

advanced quality management concepts and objectives to resolve
highly complex quality control issues for large-scale, high stakes
educational assessment materials. Regularly works with internal and
external experts from multiple disciplines (e.g., technology,
psychometrics, academic content) on issues where analysis of
situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable
factors. Exercises judgment in selecting quality control methods,
techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Responsible for quality control programs and proposals with broad
impact across assessment material production and the organization
as a whole. Develops and oversees the implementation of new quality
control programs and processes. APPOINTMENT INFORMATION Budgeted
Salary: $75,900 - $105,628 / Annually. Salary commensurate with
skills, qualifications and experience. Under California law, the
University of California, Santa Cruz is required to provide a
reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and
should not offer a salary above the posted range. The salary shown

Job Code Classification: 006938 (QA RELEASE MGT ANL 3) Travel: Up
to 25% of the time JOB DUTIES JOB DUTIES 70% - Establishes and
maintains quality control procedures for educational assessment
deliverables. Collaborates with assessment development staff and
external stakeholders to develop quality control guidelines and
oversee contractors/vendors. Collaborates with software developers
to implement quality control tests as part of new or existing
software. Reviews feedback generated by quality control tests to
ensure it is actionable and directed to the appropriate team.
Collects quality control test results and attests that a given
deliverable meets quality control standards. Maintains
documentation for the quality control program, including standard
operating procedures. Analyzes quality issues that escape testing
to inform improvements to quality control processes. Updates
quality processes as necessary to address changes in client
requirements, available technology and standard practices in
quality management. 30% - Provides expertise to project managers to
ensure that project plans account for quality control testing.
Provides quality control expertise to product managers for roadmap
considerations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in
related area and / or equivalent experience / training. In-depth
knowledge of quality management concepts and methodology.
Understanding of the role of quality control in educational
measurement. Experience working with a diverse team of subject
matter experts to develop quality control standards. Experience
supervising or conducting quality control tests on data or digital
deliverables. Experience working with project managers to
incorporate quality control into project planning and execution.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills to communicate
effectively with and influence all levels of staff. Strong written
communication skills to communicate effectively with and influence
all levels of staff. Working knowledge of automated software
workflows and building requirements for quality control automation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with online education
technologies such as learning management systems and QTI. SPECIAL
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Selected candidate will be required to
pass a pre-employment criminal history background check. Ability to
work long periods of time at a computer with or without
accommodation. Must be able to work remotely from a home office and
be able to fulfill requirements of the UCSC telecommuting
agreement. Ability to work overtime including evenings, nights,
weekends and holidays to meet operational needs, and work an
alternate work schedule shift as required. Ability to travel
nationally. Ability to maintain appearance and conduct suitable for
working in a professional setting. The University of California has
