PSS team works in close collaboration with University Police, and
is responsible to provide guidance to the campus community on the
appropriate use of security hardware and technology. The PSS team
is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and operations

responsible for analyzing, operating, and maintaining complex
IT-based Physical Security Systems (PSS). -The Analyst has an
advanced understanding and applies professional concepts to
physical security and PSS best practices. They will conduct daily
checks for effective operations of campus security systems, and
troubleshoot and promptly resolve issues or escalate as
appropriate. This position requires on-campus visits to inspect,
maintain and repair security systems. -They will adhere to
professional customer service standards, maintain open
communications, and focus on the customer experience. -APPOINTMENT

Systems Analysis and Administration Performs system administration
role including programming applications, database systems
management, and troubleshooting. Monitors ongoing performance,
identifies system vulnerabilities, and proactively corrects issues.
Conducts root cause analysis to identify underlying software and/or
network issues contributing to the failure of security system
components. Performs testing to prove cause and effect and plans
and implements corrections to prevent future system failures.
Administers physical security systems and services including
maintaining user accounts, scheduled events, defining access zones,
and door components and clearances. Programs, manages, administers,
and operates CCURE access control system, Genetec Video Management
system, Omnilock system, and Onity access control system. Develops
training materials for security systems to be delivered to
end-users. Documents system operations and/or procedures.35% -
Physical Security Systems Maintenance Conducts and tracks Break/Fix
service calls to identify hardware issues impacting the operation
of physical security systems. Works with internal and external
resources to ensure all issues are resolved appropriately and in a
timely manner. Manages third-party vendors that perform
maintenance, repair, and construction services. Provides analysis
to the PSS Team on security system maintenance and repair. Sets and
maintains preventative maintenance schedules for security systems.
Maintains preventative maintenance resources including spare parts
inventory, access approver list, call-down lists, and Fire and
Police department access privileges. Conducts root cause analysis
to identify underlying issues contributing to the failure of
security system components. Performs testing to prove cause and
effect. Plans and implements corrections to prevent future system
failures.10% - End-User Services Provides professional customer
service to the campus community to ensure all issues are resolved
appropriately and in a timely manner. Communicates with
stakeholders on timeline and cost implications. Interacts with
end-users to ensure understanding of system usage and appropriate
credentials are provided. Installs security software on PC and
Mac-based client computers. Conducts training sessions with end
users for utilization of physical security systems. Contributes to
the rollout of new security systems. Works with stakeholders to
define access zones and set up clearances and schedules. Interfaces
with end-user to ensure they understand how the system works and
they have appropriate credential. Installs and configures client
and server software. -REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced knowledge of
physical security best practices. Thorough knowledge of computer
security tools, best practices, and policies. Experience in a
customer service role. Understands and can articulate what it means
to provide excellent customer service. Skills associated with
programming and implementation of physical security systems with
specific knowledge of access control and video management systems.
Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and
non-technical personnel. Excellent verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated skill at administering security controls, permission,
and privileges in physical security applications. Demonstrated
testing and test planning skills with the ability to follow project
management workflow processes and initiate, plan, execute, control,
and bring projects to closure. Ability to analyze physical security
systems and hardware to determine failure points and
vulnerabilities. Ability to work in a ticket system to track
break/fix status. Ability to troubleshoot door hardware, security
systems hardware, client software issues, and application issues.
Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot software and
hardware components. Ability to work independently and as part of a
team. Ability to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrated
ability to prioritize and organize multiple assignments, and work
in a complex dynamic environment with deadlines, shifting
priorities, and frequent interruptions. Ability to write training
and technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
-PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in related area and /
or equivalent experience / training. Experienced with security
systems administration. Working knowledge of database management
systems and standards. Knowledge relating to database system
design. Database querying and report skills working with moderately
complex security systems. Experience with Genetec Video Management
System, Omnilock/Wi-Q access control system and Onity access
control system, CCURE access control system Familiarity with
logical data design and data import/export or data conversion.
Demonstrated experience with database administration. Familiarity
with data governance issues and requirements. Basic Knowledge of
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles.
ASIS Security Certification (PSP/CPP). Software House CCURE 9000
System Manager Certification. Software House CCURE 9000 Advanced
System Manager Certification. Software House CCURE 9000
Integrator/Installer Certification. Genetec Omnicast Certification.
-SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Selected candidate will be
required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background
check. Must possess a valid license to drive in the state of
California and be able to participate in the Department of Motor
Vehicles (DMV) pull notice program. Ability to work long periods of
time at a computer with or without accommodation. Will be required

operational needs, and work an alternate work schedule shift as
