For more information, visit .Egnyte is scouting for a Principal Applied Data Scientist to drive innovation and leadership across AI initiatives, with a special emphasis on GenAI and NLP solutions. As a Principal Applied Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Gen AI at Egnyte by defining technical strategy, driving the development of predictive models and insights, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to turn complex data into actionable business solutions at scale. You will mentor and guide data science teams while providing expertise in state-of-the-art AI/ML practices, ensuring a robust production pipeline and the professional management of models.WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Develop and own the data science roadmap that aligns with Egnyte's business goals
  • Define success metrics and oversee the entire lifecycle of data initiatives from concept to production deployment.
  • Architect, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning models
  • Champion best practices in model development, validation, and monitoring in production environments
  • Partner with product, engineering, and business teams to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor the data science team
  • Architect and provide production monitoring and support for Egnyte's ML services
  • Stay ahead of industry trends by continuously evaluating emerging technologies and methodologies in data science and machine learning
  • Represent Egnyte's technical excellence through publications, presentations, and participation in industry eventsYOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 10+ years of professional experience in data science with a proven track record in building and supporting production grade ML systems
    • Proficient in Python with hands-on experience in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
    • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and/or computer vision techniques
    • Experience working with RAG pipelines and LLMs
    • Experience working with large-scale datasets and distributed computing platforms like GCP
    • Strong understanding of ML lifecycle and MLOps practices
    • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana and logging systems e.g. ELK stack
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system reliability and observability
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively present complex insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Experience providing technical leadership to engineers
    • Willingness to be in office 3 days per weekPreferred Qualifications:
      • Prior experience in enterprise software, cloud security, or content governance industries is a plus
      • Proficiency in additional programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Go

The standard base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $210k - $240k annually. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, and/or experience.
