Job Description:

The Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a postdoctoral research position. Under the direction of Marcella M. Gomez, the postdoctoral researcher will join an ongoing research effort on Bioelectronics for Tissue Regeneration (BETR) funded by Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA). This is a highly dynamic and collaborative project aimed at accelerating wound closure. This project integrates the fields of biology, bioelectronics, electrical engineering, computer science, and applied mathematics. This is a two-year appointment subject to renewal based on performance evaluation and funding availability.
Job duties: Develop and refine feedback control algorithms informed only by sparse data and qualitative models to be integrated into hardware and implemented in vivo as part of our group's ongoing research on intelligent band aid. The work is highly collaborative and requires in person presence, ongoing conversations, regular meetings, and monthly reporting.
