The Art Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz
(UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who
may be appointed to teach 4D visual art courses at the lower and/or
upper division level. Possible course topics include 4D foundation,
digital media, digital video, new media and digital artmaking,
digital tools, computer programming for art, interactive art,
robotics, 2D animation, 3D animation, stop-animation, and digital
The department seeks to add to its current strength in the creation
of socially and environmentally engaged work. Selected candidates
should have a notable exhibition record and professional experience
with a contemporary approach of visual art practice. Preference
will be given to candidates with any of the following
- Proven ability to work with students of diverse
- A multidisciplinary orientation that bridges areas of art
practice, which includes interactive installation and sculpture,
digital video, animation, social media, sound art and physical
