Santa Cruz Position overviewPosition title: German Language
Lecturer Salary range: Commensurate with qualifications and
experience and the particular courses the lecturer is appointed to
teach. Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from
courses taught during the academic year. Percent time: Variable,
based on the course load assigned. Anticipated start: Appointments
are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the
availability of funding. This recruitment is valid for initial
appointments made in fall 2021 through fall quarter 2022. Initial
appointments with effective dates outside of this recruitment
period will require an alternative open recruitment. Position
duration: Appointments are typically made during one or more
quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring
quarters), but they may also be made during Summer Session.

your application. Position description The Department of Languages
and Applied Linguistics at the University of California, Santa Cruz
(UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of part-time
lecturers who may be appointed to teach German language
courses.Applicants with expertise and/or a graduate degree in
applied linguistics are strongly encouraged to apply.The campus is
especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the
diversity and excellence of the academic community through their
teaching and other assigned duties, and who have experience
teaching the targeted language both as a second language and as a
heritage language. Candidates are expected to have native or
near-native proficiency in German and they are expected to have

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Master's degree (or equivalent
foreign degree) in German or related field.
One year of independent teaching in the German language at the
