Position overviewPosition title: Lecturer Salary range:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience and the particular
courses the lecturer is appointed to teach. Compensation for Summer
Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic
year. Percent time: Variable, based on the course load assigned.
Anticipated start: Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's
instructional need and the availability of funding. This
recruitment is valid for initial appointments made in fall 2021
through fall quarter 2022. Initial appointments with effective
dates outside of this recruitment period will require an
alternative open recruitment. Position duration: Appointments are
typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic
year (fall, winter, and spring quarters), but they may also be made

The History of Consciousness Department at the University of
California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing
pool of part-time lecturers who may be appointed to teach
occasional courses in and across the following subject areas:
philosophy and theory; race and ethnicity; gender & sexuality;
political economy and social movements; media, aesthetics, and
poetics. Candidates must be willing to teach both seminars and
large lecture courses.The campus is especially interested in
candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of
the academic community through their teaching and other assigned
duties. Candidates with three or more years of university level
teaching experience are strongly encouraged to apply.The hiring

Master's degree or higher (or
equivalent foreign degree) in a field relating to one of the
advertised subject areas (philosophy and theory; race and
ethnicity; gender & sexuality; political economy and social
movements; media, aesthetics, and poetics).
Demonstrated teaching experience in higher education in one or more
