In addition, and in accordance with our mission, Dominican Hospital

ResponsibilitiesThe Charge Nurse functions as a part of a
leadership team designed to plan, organize, and control the health
care process for applicable patient populations through the unit
level management of assigned clinical process while assuming the
responsibility and accountability for assigned shift operations.
Continually work s toward achieving patient satisfaction,
productivity, financial and operational objectives. The Charge
Nurse coordinates unit responsibilities and supervises and assigns
duties to unit staff. Reports directly to the Department
The Charge Nurse supervises staff of approximately 10-20 employees,
including staffing, shift assignments, patient care coordination,
scheduling, performance reviews, staff development, meeting and
committee participation, and unit resource during the absence of
the unit manager. Responsibility is for assigned shift 7 days a
week. Serves as a role model for professional, collaborative,
process improvement, customer relations, and clinical excellence.
Performs other duties as assigned.
- Specialty certification within 3 years of obtaining
- Current and active CA RN license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Unit specific certifications and qualifications (ex: PALS,
