TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified
ICU/Critical Care RN in Santa Cruz, California, 95065! Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2
years in ICU License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years of ICU
experience Description: Unit operates with 16 beds but may expand
to 20 beds. Certifications preferred include BLS, ACLS, NIHSS,
PALS, and CCRN. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 and 1:2. Charting
is performed using an electronic medical record system. A charge
nurse is available and does not carry patients. There are no nurse
aides assigned. Weekend work is required every other weekend with
additional shifts as needed. On-call responsibilities may arise
based on census, with a required response time of 30 minutes.
Holiday scheduling is required but requests for time off will be
considered. Scrub color is navy. Patient care includes adults and
pediatrics with various diagnoses such as MedSurg, Neuro, and
trauma. Familiarity with mechanical ventilation and additional
specific procedures will be beneficial. There is a dedicated IV
team available during the day. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy
services are available 24/7. Staffing adjustments may lead to
floating to tele units. Additional ongoing training will be
provided for certain procedures and equipment. Candidates must have
strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work
independently as well as part of a team. Flexibility with shift
