Our dental practice is expanding, and we are excited to offer an
excellent opportunity for an experienced registered dental
assistant with extended functions (RDAEF) to join our warm and
supportive team. The ideal candidate should have at least 7 years
of experience as an RDA and at least 2 years of experience as an
RDAEF. They should be dedicated to delivering exceptional care to

Pleasanton, CA Registered Dental Assistant EF Responsibilities
- Welcome and ensure patient comfort throughout the entire
appointment.
- Take and document dental health and hygiene vital signs, take
X-rays of patients' mouths, and apply topical anesthetic for dental
procedures when needed.
- Prepare, sterilize, and put away equipment, instruments,
anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials in designated areas for
exams and procedures.
- Assist the dentist during procedures or examinations by handing
off dental instruments, providing suction, and ensuring chair-side
accessibility to the team.
- Adhere to all dental office infection control policies and
safety regulations by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment
and instruments after each use.
- Schedule appointments for patient care follow-up, answer
patients' questions about dental hygiene, and provide postoperative
instructions on controlling infection in the patient's teeth and
gums after treatment.
- Able to perform an oral health evaluation, including charting,
intraoral and extraoral soft tissue assessment, classifying
occlusion, and myofunctional evaluation.
- Take x-rays and impressions.
- Create scans or impressions for crowns, partials, and
dentures.
- Oversee impressions, try-ins, delivery of final dentures or
partials, and placement of Invisalign attachments.
- Provide composite fillings and remove & cement final crowns and
bridges. Registered Dental Assistant EF Qualifications To be
considered for a dental assistant position, you must meet the
following requirements:
- Hold an Associate's degree or certification from a college or
technical school training program accredited by the Commission on
Dental Accreditation.
- Hold a state license as a registered dental assistant (RDA)
from the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
- Hold a current BLS/CPR certification.
- Have seven years of dental assisting experience as a registered
or certified dental assistant and two years as an RDAEF.
- Be experienced with dental software, specifically Dentrix
Ascend or Dentrix, updating patient histories, computer skills, and
Itero scanning.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, customer service,
organization, and excellent communication skills are essential.
Hours Monday (every other), Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday (every other)9 am-6 pm Compensation $32 - $40/hr DOE
