the hospital offers two cardiac catheterization labs available 24
hours a day 7 days a week. Groundbreaking cardiac procedures at
Dominican include the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
procedure which allows for heart valve replacement without opening
a patient's chest.Dominican Hospital has forged significant
partnerships with area hospitals to bring exceptional care to Santa
Cruz County. The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard
Children's Hospital Stanford. Neurosurgery at Dominican is also
offered through a partnership with Stanford Health Care.Position
Summary:Reports to the Laboratory Management. Responsible for the
technical and scientific oversight of the assigned specialty and
for performing the complete scope of tests in the laboratory
section to which assigned. Coordinates staff and testing to provide
quality medical results for patient care decisions and to assure
the optimal performance of such testing procedures in accordance
with accreditation standards.Minimum:Five (5) years experience
working in the capacity of a CLSAdditional 2 years working in a
lead role.Requires 2 years of training post
baccalaureate;Demonstrate record of continuing education in
Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Technologist techniques and
practicesActively participates in The American Society for Clinical
Laboratory Science (ASCLS)Advanced knowledge and understanding of
medical terminology typing math and computer skills;Ability to
demonstrate higher level of proficiency of clinical laboratory
technologist skillsCurrent and ability to maintain California
Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Technologist
licensePreferred:SBB ASCP preferred
