Group - Dominican, a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation,
is committed to serving the continuing health care needs of Santa
Cruz County. Supported by the rich community history Dominican
Hospital, our doctors provide convenient, personalized care to
patients throughout the region along the full continuum of care. We
operate 18 clinics in Santa Cruz County and feature more than 70
providers with specialties including pediatrics, oncology and
hematology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, gastroenterology,
OB/GYN, urology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and urgent
care. Santa Cruz County is 70 miles south of San Francisco and
boasts great surf, sandy beaches, redwood-covered mountains and
more. Responsibilities Operate radiology equipment to make clinical
diagnostic x-ray films as directed by physicians. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 1) ( 50%) Position
patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays following
established procedures 2) ( 10%) Instruct patients regarding
procedures 3) ( 10%) Follow prescribed safety standards in
operating radiology equipment 4) ( 10%) Select length and intensity
for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient
basis 5) ( 10%) Develop and process radiology film and examine film
for properties such as definition, magnification and distortion. 6)
(10 %) Maintain examination rooms. Stock necessary medical and
radiological supplies. Fill in support to the Front Office as
needed for various job such as phones, scheduling appointments,
check in and check out. Qualifications Required: * One year of
x-ray experience.
* High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
* CRT;AMER REGISTRY RAD TECH (RG ARRT);CT CPR
* Ability to properly position patients to provide quality imaging;
Ability to troubleshoot equipment operation and perform simple
adjustments; Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers;
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer services
skills; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Passion
for excellence in the care of patients and provision of timely and
quality service; Basic computer skills; Knowledge of anatomy and
physiology to sufficiently pinpoint areas for radiography;
Knowledge of radiology equipment and testing; Knowledge of safety
hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics and
patient movement; Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
and cope effectively in a fast paced environment; Ability to act
calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation; Requires
adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for
safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Maintain
accurate records as directed. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive
information. Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
Document work processes as required.
* Successful completion of an approved AMA Radiologic Technology
program required. Current Amer Registry Rad Tech certification.
