Position Description
As an Associate Vice President in our P3 Advisory and Project Delivery practice, you will work in a fully integrated team representing project owners in the delivery of major infrastructure projects through design-build, design-bid-build, public-private partnership, and real estate procurement structures. You will be primarily supporting a major infrastructure project located in Santa Cruz, CA in a Senior Construction Manager capacity. As part of our California based team, you will also be required to travel / report in with our Santa Monica, CA office from time to time. The ideal candidate must have experience in the review of design packages for compliance with the project's performance specifications; and contract, construction, and change order management on behalf of the project owner.

  • General -Responsibilities - - -


  • Supports the Project team---in---defining, planning, and delivering a given strategic initiative and specific project requirements------
  • Supports complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents, partners, and stakeholders------
  • Supports the management and delivery of---some or all---aspects of the project life cycle and works throughout all phases of a project------
  • Supports team to ensure---commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters------
  • Supports the development and management of project delivery, public-private partnership---opportunities,---track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall delivery plan------
  • Represents WT in a client-facing opportunities---

    - - -2. Contract Management

    • Define all project deliverables as required by the project contract documents on behalf of the owner, and assist the owner in its contractual responsibilities in respect of such deliverables.
    • Facilitate document and review workflow in accordance with the contract documents.
    • Manage RFI workflow, including receipt, categorization, and compilation of comments and responses.
    • Track designers' and contractors' submittals and manage the submittal review process in accordance with the project contract documents and project requirements.
    • Anticipate contractual owner's obligations and assist the owner to ensure such obligations are met as required in the contract documents.
    • Assist owner in the coordination meetings and the development of meeting agendas and meeting minutes as required.
    • Represent the owner in project meetings.
    • Assist the owner in project resourcing.
    • Engineering Design Management and Review (throughout the design documentation phase): -
    • Engineering design development management and oversight. -
    • Engineering design review (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security/IT/AV, utilities). -
    • Engineering design verification. -
    • Design commentary compilation and review. -
    • Design change options.

      - - -3. Construction Management -

      • Construction coordination in a potentially multi-contractor and multi-stakeholder environment.
      • Provide construction management labor monitoring.
      • Manages change order process, negotiation, and settlement.
      • Assists the owner through dispute resolution procedures and claim management.
      • Track project progress against the lead contractor's construction schedule.
      • Collaborate with lead contractor and owner to facilitate inspections to be conducted by independent certifiers.
      • Ensure lead contractor's adherence to all the requirements set forth in the project agreement and the project technical requirements including, without limitation, the on-site presence of safety and quality personnel as required by the project agreement and applicable law.
      • Ensures quality assurance and safety compliance

        Minimum Qualifications

        • Bachelor's Degree -in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction -Management, or similar - - -
        • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction and/or contract management for complex infrastructure projects
        • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles
        • Strong understanding of contractual construction documents, terms, and conditions
        • Strong leadership and management skills
        • Must be able to commute to Santa Cruz---/ project site as required--- -
        • Ability to travel to Client sites / offices across the United States as needed--- -
        • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications

          • Experience with and understanding of various software platforms including Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Smartsheet and other scheduling software, Asana, and document management platforms.
