JOB TITLE: Director of Enrollment & Marketing
EXEMPT: Yes
REPORTS TO: Head of School
POSTING DATE: March 2023
ESTIMATED START DATE: -June 8, 2023
SALARY RANGE: $82,500.00 - $105,000.00 - Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
BENEFITS: This is a full time, exempt position which qualifies for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and LTD insurance as well as retirement plan available after 1 year vested with employer match of employee contributions up to 2% of salary.
SUMMARY: The Director of Enrollment and Marketing administers Gateway School's application and admissions processes and re-enrollment and retention efforts, develops and implements marketing, branding, and advertising efforts, and serves as a strategic thinker and contributes tactical advice as part of the Senior Administrative Team. The position oversees Gateway's fundraising and communications efforts and leads the Advancement Office. This position actively engages families to achieve an optimum enrollment with new and returning students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
Admissions


  • Develops and implements the application and admissions process.
  • Develops the calendar of open houses, tours, and other admissions' activities.
  • Ensures Gateway's presence on websites like Great Schools, Yelp, and Niche are accurate and have updated reviews.
  • Recruits and trains parent and student ambassadors.
  • Guides interested families through the decision-making and application process. --- Coordinates student visit and shadow days.
  • Coordinates Admissions Committee decision-making and support the decisions of the Head of School.
  • Develops and maintains the statistics necessary for tracking and projecting enrollment and retention.
  • Represents the school to preschools, elementary schools, and other outside organizations.
  • Serves on the Flexible Tuition Committee.
  • Keeps the Head of School and Board of Trustees informed of significant issues affecting enrollment.

    Re-enrollment

    • Collaborates with staff to minimize attrition.
    • Develops the calendar of open houses, tours, and other admissions' activities.
    • Collaborates with the Head of School and other staff to ensure that the profile and needs of the student body are matched to Gateway's mission, program, and resources.

      Marketing

      • Ensures that the school's messaging and brand identity are clear and effectively presented in annual marketing plans, campaigns, and materials.
      • Develops mission-appropriate advertising and outreach materials to attract prospective families.
      • Oversees website revisions to ensure it accurately reflects Gateway's programs. --- Designs social media campaigns and oversees posting to social media feeds.
      • Organizes school presence at community events (Open Streets, Kids Day, etc).
      • Builds relationships with referral sources (real estate, UCSC, corporate HR departments, etc.)
      • Manages media and public relations including press releases, media coverage, and other outlets.

        Leadership

        • Leads the Advancement team.
        • Attends Board meetings and makes presentations representing the scope of the Advancement Office as directed by the Head of School.
        • Serves on the Senior Administrative Team.

          Other Duties and Responsibilities

          • Completes yard and curb duties as assigned.
          • Performs other duties as assigned.

            EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
            Bachelor's degree

            • Approximately 80% of the time performing job duties is spent indoors, within a standard office environment.
