CRISPR Core Center Manager Position overview Position title:
CRISPR Core Center Manager Salary range: Commensurate with
qualifications and experience. Percent time: Full-time (100%)
Anticipated start: As soon as possible after initial review of the
applications. Position duration: Initial appointment one year.
Reappointment may be considered contingent upon the availability of

position has not yet been filled. Position Description The
Department of Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at the
University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications
for the position of CRISPR Core Center Manager. Under the direction
of Professor Susan Carpenter, the manager will be responsible for
the running of the newly established UCSC CRISPR Core. Duties will
include molecular cloning, cell line generation, performing CRISPR
screens, providing intellectual input and advice on CRISPR usage as
well as incorporating new CRISPR technologies as they emerge. The
selected candidate will also be involved in working with students
and researchers to utilize the technology. Additionally, the
manager will be responsible for ordering supplies and equipment,
keeping track of users and user billing, overseeing the budget, and
serving as safety representative for the core. Applicants with
expertise in CRISPR technology molecular cloning, lentiviral

Basic qualifications (required at time of application) PhD (or an
equivalent foreign degree) in biology, biochemistry, molecular
biology, or a related field. Evidence of at least two years of
post-graduate research experience in molecular biology or in a
