Come join our amazing men and women on the THAAD program as a Hardware Integration Manager in fielding a highly mobile defense system providing the critical capability to shoot a missile with a missile enabling the U.S. military to effectively and reliably defend the U.S. and allied assets around the world. You'll be leading a diverse team of project engineers and hardware integration staff in supporting THAAD Interceptor (Missile) development and production activities with a specific focus on overseeing execution of hardware redesigns and their integration into the weapon system. As the Hardware Integration Manager for the THAAD team, you will directly help establish the technical system design solution for new capability added to the THAAD system. In this role you will: --- Oversee cost, schedule, technical, risk and opportunity management and interface closely with customer counterparts. --- Be responsible for planning, executing and reporting on Missile hardware redesign projects, providing issue investigation leadership/closure, and coordinating integration efforts of those new hardware designs into production. --- Provide proposal and development scope inputs for future technology evolution and upgrades to the weapon system --- Ensure SSC's standard technical processes and tools, best practices, and training are available and properly implemented on the program. --- Be accountable for timely resolution of production and development issues as well as on-time and on-cost delivery of development-driven design changes (i.e., oversee engineering conceptual design, Product Review cycle, Qualification testing, requirements verification, hardware integration, transition to production). --- Have the responsibility of providing engineering support services to multiple manufacturing facilities (both LM and subcontractor) in the United States. --- This role may require occasional domestic travel to LM, Army and Subcontractor facilities. Basic Qualifications: --- Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. --- Project Leadership/Management experience throughout the engineering life cycle. --- Experience with Systems, sub-systems or Hardware Integration --- Experience with missile, launch vehicle, spacecraft, aircraft or aerospace design --- Experience working with production, manufacturing, test or analysis etc. to drive hardware design and development/production activities through delivery --- The ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance, therefore US citizenship is required. Desired Skills: --- Experience in a management role with direct reports. --- Experience supporting production of missile, spacecraft or aircraft hardware --- Experience as a Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) or industry equivalent --- Familiarity with configuration control and quality control tools and systems (e.g. EPDM, Q-notes, VRICs) --- Experience working closely with internal/external subcontractors --- Experience in Risk and Opportunity Management --- Control Account Management (CAM) or equivalent experience --- Proposal experience --- Demonstrated ability to plan, propose and manage budgets and schedules --- Hands-on engineering hardware experience --- Demonstrated commitment to the development and deployment of productivity/performance improvements and leveraging new technologies --- Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement processes for improved execution along with a focus on Design for Excellence (DfX). --- In-depth background and experience of missile architectures to manage risk and identify mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, cost, schedule, and mission success objectives. --- Demonstrated ability to work in a cost and scheduled constrained environment.
