The at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites
applications for a postdoctoral scholar who will work under the
direction of Drs. Michael Beck and Borja Reguero in the and the new
UCSC Center for Coastal Climate Resilience.
The postdoctoral scholar will conduct work in coastal modeling and
engineering through projects to assess future coastal flood and
erosion risks and the role of nature-based solutions in reducing
them. There will be opportunities to work on solutions-focused
research with interdisciplinary experts on projects funded by the
National Science Foundation, State of California, and US Department
of Defense among others. The postdoctoral scholar will be
responsible for coupling regional and global hydrodynamic and

inundation, coastal erosion and sediment dynamics), research and
analysis of coastal hydrodynamics, coastal protection design and
engineering, coastal geomorphology, and climate change are strongly
encouraged to apply. Expertise with supercomputers and clusters,
validation and calibration of hydrodynamic models with laboratory
