The Performance, Play & Design Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of visiting assistant professors. Candidates should have expertise and a national or international profile in one or more of the following areas: drama, dance, and design and technology. Visiting assistant professors are expected to engage in research or other creative activity, teaching, and university and public service. The successful candidate will be expected to serve as a full member of the Theater Arts Department, and must be able to work with students, faculty, and staff from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds. We seek experienced, accomplished artists/scholars preferably with teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and/or service.
