Philosophy Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz
(UCSC) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor
position in Philosophy. The area of specialization is open. The
ability to teach feminist philosophy is a plus but not a
requirement. The department also welcomes applicants who, while
grounded in the analytic tradition, engage with other approaches,
including (but not limited to) those from the 19th and 20th century
European tradition. Candidates are expected to conduct research,
teach, contribute significantly to graduate education and
mentorship, provide service to the campus and their profession, and
be able to work with students, faculty and staff from a wide range
of social and cultural backgrounds. Candidates with interest or
experience in public philosophy are particularly encouraged to

Ph.D. (or equivalent foreign degree)
in Philosophy and demonstrated record of research and university
teaching. It is expected that the degree requirement will be
