New Media at the University of Mississippi invites applications for
two nine-month tenure track/tenured professor positions (1
assistant, 1 assistant or associate) of Integrated Marketing
Communications starting Fall 2025. Each position is full-time,
tenure-track to begin August 2025.We seek innovative candidates
with a strong focus on research to help build the IMC undergraduate
and graduate programs to be consistent with the University of
Mississippi's Carnegie R-1 status. The successful candidate will
have an active research agenda related to integrated marketing
communications, including but not limited to strategic
communication, public relations, or advertising. Candidates with
proven research productivity and/or potential to secure research
funding or awards will be given priority consideration. The
candidates will maintain a steady stream of scholarly publications
in their area of expertise and be expected to perform service to
the school and university.We seek individuals who are particularly
qualified to teach research methods, public relations, IMC
campaigns, global IMC, advertising account management, and/or
emerging technology courses. Experience as an instructor of record
is highly desirable. Successful candidates will mentor graduate
students and teach and develop coursework in both the graduate and
undergraduate programs. Teaching responsibilities may include
face-to-face or online courses.The School of Journalism and New
Media offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Journalism,
Integrated Marketing Communications, and Media and Communication.
The IMC program curriculum is designed to provide a foundation for
students in creating, managing, and evaluating brand-building
communications across traditional and digital media platforms. The
IMC program is one of the largest of its kind, with nearly 1600
undergraduate students served by 14 full-time faculty and 11
non-tenured faculty. The graduate program in IMC has surged in
recent years to more than 100 students.The School of Journalism and

- A Ph.D. in communication or related discipline with an emphasis
in public relations, integrated marketing communications,
advertising, or related area. Candidates without a Ph.D. may be
considered but will be required to have completed the degree by the
position start date.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the collegiate level,
with evidence or potential to teach IMC courses, as listed
above.
- Demonstrated strength in or promise of scholarly
productivity.Additional qualifications for each rank are listed
below:For appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor:
- Demonstrated potential for research success as shown through
publications or presentations.
- Demonstrated potential teaching excellence in a university
setting.For appointment at the rank of Associate Professor:
- Demonstrated excellence in research as shown through
publications, awards, or research grants.
- Record of productive teaching excellence in a university
setting including the ability to develop and teach graduate
